The Bethune House Migrant Women’s Refuge Limited – Shelter Services – Hong Kong
Bethune House Migrant Women’s Refuge in Sheung Wan provides refuge and social counselling to Asian women migrant workers in distress as they seek justice. Women migrant workers accommodated in Bethune House have cases to file or ongoing cases related to: labour grievances and claims; illegal collection of agency fees, collection of exorbitant fees and forced loans; and police, immigration, health and other concerns. As therapy, the women residents are involved in the production of handmade cross-stitched Christmas Cards, aprons and bags as part of their income generating projects. Each shelter supports 18 – 25 women. They have been a FHK Charity Partner since 2012.
