Chief Executive Officer

Key responsibilities

  • Taking executive responsibility for all functions including the warehouse, administration, finance, fundraising, marketing, communications and IT;
  • Liaising with the Board in relation to the development of the organisation’s strategic vision, development and delivery of the agreed business, financial and operational plans;
  • Providing leadership, developing and implementing the organizations’ strategic and operational plans and leading on partnership and business development;
  • Ensuring financial control and supporting and advising on good governance across all aspects of the organisation (financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, control, reporting and management of finances and resources, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable organisational growth);
  • Identifying, developing and nurturing beneficial partnerships with donors, community partners, charities and all relevant authorities/organisations;
  • Recruitment, management and effective deployment of staff, apply robust HR processes covering recruitment, performance management, appraisal and remuneration;
  • Leading by example, instilling a culture of professionalism and inclusion, supported by coaching, training and development.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English is essential with Cantonese language skills being a distinct advantage to engage with local staff and charities
  • Significant proven record of achievement in a management position, ideally within an NGO with an operational component or directly food sector;
  • Experience of effective partnership working and development and external relationship management. Fundraising experience is a significant advantage;
  • Inspirational leadership, change management and motivational skills;
  • Highly organised and personally effective;

    Contract Driver & Warehouse Assistant

    We are currently seeking a self-motivated Driver & Warehouse Assistant to support fleet logistics and warehouse ensure all food is safely and professionally handled and delivered to those who need it in the community.

    Job purpose

    • To ensure that all food is delivered and collected efficiently, effectively, promptly and safely to those who need it;
    • Ensure all food donations are appropriately inspected, received, stored and distributed.

    Key responsibilities

    Driver

    • Carry out the delivery and collection of surplus safely, promptly and to schedule;
    • Work with volunteers and interns to ensure the deliveries and collections are made smoothly;
    • Ensure volunteers have a safe, enjoyable and meaningful experience;
    • Adhere to driving rules and regulations and FHK policies and procedures;
    • Document and log kilometres spent driving and work rest periods, and retain fuel and parking receipts;
    • Handle the loading, unloading and dispatch of products.

    Warehouse Assistant

    • Receive, count, pack, stock and organise products in warehouse;
    • Ensure inventory records are organised, maintained with accuracy and up to date at all times;
    • Support volunteer sessions in the warehouse;
    • Execute inventory cycle counting and reconciliation.

    General

    • Maintain tidiness and hygiene of vehicle, equipment and facilities;
    • Support with other ad-hoc duties as required.

    Accountabilities

    • Be accountable and report to the Operations Manager;
    • Supervise volunteers and interns when needed.

    Experience, skills and knowledge

    General:

    • Written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese- fluent) and English (Basic);
    • Valid driver’s license (Full Driving License no. 1, 2 & 18);
    • Safe and courteous driver;
    • A flexible approach to working hours is required, as shifts may change to suit operational requirements;
    • To be fully committed to the mission of FHK to reduce food waste, feed charities and drive change.

    Experience of:

    • Working in a warehouse and/or logistics environment;
    • Using Sat Nav to navigate and plan routes;
    • Working on own initiative, able to manage own workload and prioritise tasks to meet objectives;
    • Working in a team with evidence of demonstrating a flexible approach to team working.

    Able to:

    • Establish strong working relationships with Feeding Hong Kong stakeholders;
    • Excellent communication skills;
    • Work independently and with diverse groups of people;
    • Enthuse and motivate individuals and groups;
    • Take initiative and use common sense;
    • Stay clam under pressure;
    • Adopt a flexible approach to daily tasks and activities.

    Knowledge of:

    • Routing and logistics practices;
    • Basic computer skills.

    Additional

    • Contract until Dec 2021
    • 5-day work, may need to work on weekend, public holidays and evenings, not more that 40 working hours each week.

    Office and Programme Support Intern

    Join our Programme and Office team to ensure the smooth running of our daily Foodbank operations

    Duties

    • Work alongside our Office team to ensure the smooth running of our daily operations
    • Provide support for the Food Drives, School events and Food Sorting and Packing Sessions
    • Lead weekly volunteer briefings and tours
    • Translate a variety of materials e.g. newsletters, promotion materials and manuals etc
    • Provide support at Feeding HK events
    • Maintain and enter information into databases
    • Support with other ad-hoc tasks as required

    Requirements

    • Confident communicator in Chinese and English
    • Passionate ambassador for environmental and social issues
    • Strong multi-tasker
    • Proficiency in MS Office
    • Experience using design software desirable

    Logistics and Supply Chain Intern

    Support our Operations team to ensure the smooth flow of product donations from the food industry to our charity network

    • Assist with food donation sorting, inspection and data capture
    • Prepare donation reports and analysis
    • Assist with inventory cycle counting and reconciliation

    • Support with other ad-hoc projects and analysis as required

    Requirements

    • Fluent in Chinese and English
    • Be passionate about the mission of Feeding HK

    • Willing and able to do light lifting and other physical work to support warehouse and delivery operations

    Accounting Intern

    Requirements

    Charity Outreach Intern

    Support our charity team to plan and perform annual charity survey

    • Plan and perform annual charity survey to review the recent corporation
    • Assist Charity Director to visit and interview our charity partners
    • Help to draft and prepare the annual charity report
    • Make reasonable suggestions and recommendations according to the result
    • Manage incoming calls and ensure phone messages are relayed to appropriate staff member
    • Answer the door and greet all visitors and volunteers to the Feeding Hong Kong office
    • Maintain and enter information into databases
    • Support with other ad-hoc tasks as required

    Requirements

    • Work unsupervised and organise a demanding workload
    • Juggle multiple priorities and to deliver under pressure
    • Work accurately, paying close attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
    • Interact with a range of different people, confidently and pleasantly
    • High level of expertise with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese
