Cooking Tips
- This is a great snack for kids to make on their own!
- Try using cookie cutters to make different shaped tarts and creating “fruit faces” with different types of fruit.
- Sprinkle some crushed nuts and seeds for an added crunch and a boost of protein and fibre.
Nutrition Advice
- Choosing brown sandwich bread instead of white bread is a good way to increase fibre intake.
- If you are concerned about fat, choose cream cheese that is labelled “light” or “reduced fat”.
- Fruits are important sources of many nutrients, including potassium, fibre, vitamin C and folate. Try incorporating berries and citrus fruits – they contain phytochemicals for extra health benefits.
