Together for Tai Po

Supporting families affected by the Wang Fuk Court fire

As Hong Kong continues to navigate the aftermath of the Tai Po fire, our hearts remain firmly with the thousands of families affected by this tragedy. We extend our deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones in this tragic event and our thoughts are with the injured and displaced residents during this difficult time.

We are so grateful to all those who have reached out, offering their time, resources and compassion. The work to set up the infrastructure for long-term support is underway and with your support, Feeding Hong Kong will be there to help as needed on the road to recovery – with food and care.

Together for Tai Po

Our response and ongoing support

Community collaboration is at the heart of all we do at Feeding Hong Kong.

We are continuing to work closely with official organisations and frontline charities to understand the evolving needs of the Wong Fuk Court community, so that resources can be redirected to the right people at the right time. This includes our ongoing response to direct requests for food support from the charities supporting with transitional housing, alongside preparing care boxes to share directly with families as they settle into new homes.

100% of the fundraising – both financial contributions and food donations – received for the Together for Tai Po campaign will be directed entirely to supporting the affected families and the long-term recovery efforts, guided by the priorities of frontline charities. All physical donations, food and personal care items, have been diligently tracked and added to our Tai Po inventory.

To manage this incredible influx of generosity from food companies and individuals, we have secured additional warehouse space and logistics support. Our dedicated Together for Tai Po Foodbank will act as a safe and central deposit for food donations to be redistributed when and where needed, whilst crucially minimising waste.

Food donations to date (22 December 2025)

Feeding Hong Kong has, to date, coordinated the distribution of 11 tonnes of food to meet requests from 10 frontline charities.

Some of our ‘Together for Tai Po’ charity partners include:
Food for Good (Transitional Housing Project)
Green Hub
Helping Hand Jockey Club Housing for the Elderly (Siu Sai Wan, Chuk Yuen, and Po Lam homes)
The Lutheran Church – Hong Kong (Transitional Housing Projects)
St. James’ Settlement (Transitional Housing Project)
Shepherd Community Church
Street Sleepers Action Committee
The Against Elderly Abuse of Hong Kong

We remain committed to supporting the charities on the ground as they build a sustainable framework for long-term recovery.

How you can help

We’re so grateful for the continued offers of support and the community’s energy and heartfelt desire to help.

At this stage, we have closed our phase one call for food, funds and friends, so that we can focus on redistributing the resources already shared and accommodating the helping hands of those on our current volunteer waitlist. At the same time, we are continuing our work to support other vulnerable communities across the city and with your help will continue to save food and deliver food security across Hong Kong.

We will share more updates on our Tai Po response in due course and our plans to ease day-to-day food needs and offer a sense of stability to affected families during this difficult time. To keep updated on this and how you can help with food, funds and friends for our ongoing work, sign up below for our newsletter.
