Charities Manager

We are seeking a Charities Manager to join our team at Feeding Hong Kong. As the Charities Manager, you will play a crucial role in maximising relationships with our charity partners, ensuring efficient allocation of donations, and coordinating community and CSR events. Your main responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining charity partnerships, coordinating donation allocation, developing operational processes, and supporting community capacity building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic charity partners.
  • Ensure effective communication between Feeding Hong Kong (FHK) and our growing charity base.
  • Conduct regular visits to charities for programme and services updates.
  • Identify and expand FHK’s charity networks for surplus food.
  • Coordinate the efficient allocation of donated food and resources.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize distribution routes.
  • Develop and continuously improve operational protocols.
  • Seek opportunities to enable and motivate charities to increase their capacity.
  • Participate in community events and networking activities.
  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement team to plan and execute CSR events.
  • Support the Communications team with regular content to promote FHK.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in both Cantonese and English.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of managerial experience, preferably with NGOs.
  • Candidates with a commercial background and a passion for reducing food waste and supporting charities will also be considered.
  • Experience in managing donations, logistics, or operations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to manage expectations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Operations Officer

As an Operations Officer, you will play a vital role in coordinating our day-to-day operations, supporting our warehouse and logistic team, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and delivery team, working closely with the Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Manager, and other stakeholders;
  • Ensure timely and efficient processing of surplus donations and orders, adhering to food safety standards and maintaining accurate records;
  • Design delivery and collection routes and schedules, optimising efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Maintain excellent relationships with our donors, charities, volunteers, and staff, serving as the face of Feeding Hong Kong;
  • Provide support and cover for the Assistant Operations Manager and other team members as needed;
  • Plan and execute our Bread Run programme, overseeing operations, food safety, training, and communications;
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to streamline processes and enhance the effectiveness of our food programmes;
  • Take responsibility for health and safety in the warehouse, delivering appropriate briefings and ensuring compliance with policies and standards;
  • Motivate and develop our team, setting clear targets and boundaries, and fostering a positive working environment;
  • Assist with other organisational activities as required.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Fluent in written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English;
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in food retail or wholesale warehouse operations.
  • Candidates with no prior experience but holding a degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field are also welcome and will be considered for the position of Operations Executive;
  • Demonstrated experience in working effectively in a team and adapting to changing circumstances;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders;
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to meet targets and work under pressure;
  • Knowledge of food safety and health and safety practices;
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office;
  • Flexibility in working schedule, including the possibility of working on Mondays to Fridays / Tuesdays to Saturdays on alternate weeks.

Community Engagement Support Intern

Support our Community Enagement team to ensure the smooth running of our volunteer and education activities

Duties

  • Provide support for the food drives, school events, volunteers activities and other community campagins;
  • Lead volunteer briefings and tours;
  • Translate a variety of materials e.g. newsletters, promotion materials and manuals etc;
  • Manage incoming calls and ensure phone messages are relayed to appropriate staff member;
  • Answer the door and greet all visitors and volunteers to the Feeding Hong Kong office;
  • Maintain and enter information into databases;
  • Support with other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Confident communicator in Chinese and English;
  • Passionate ambassador for environmental and social issues
    Strong multi-tasker;
  • Proficiency in MS Office;
  • Experience using design software desirable.

Working day

Ideally 1-2 full days a week during term time but can be flexible to fit in with university studies or

2-month full time during summer / 1-month full time during winter break.

Food Sourcing Intern

Support our Food Sourcing team to develop and expand our food donor network

  • Provide admin support to the Food Sourcing Team;
  • Approach new food donors and prepare pitching materials;
  • Assist in food donation reports and analysis;
  • Provide support in food industry research;
  • Support retail surplus collections;
  • Assist in food exhibitions or events if necessary;
  • Support with other ad-hoc projects as required.

Requirements

  • Open to undergraduate student who is passionate about environmental and social issues;
  • Pay close attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Interact with a range of different people, confidently and pleasantly.
  • Work independently with little supervision;
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word.

Working day

  • Ideally 1-2 full days a week during term time but can be flexible to fit in with university studies or
