Drivers



Drivers are needed to assist with food deliveries and pick-ups. A valid class 2 driver’s license (light goods vehicle), clean driver’s record and police check is required.

Various shifts Monday – Thursday

Generally between 9:30am – 12:30pm, 2:00pm – 5:00pm, 7.00pm – 10.00pm

Charity Delivery Assistants



Volunteers are needed to assist our staff in the FHK van for charity deliveries and food donation pick-ups.

Various shifts Monday – Wednesday, Friday

Generally between 9:30am – 12:30pm or 9:30am – 5pm

Bread Runners

Bread Runners needed to collect donations from bakeries and drop off at the destinated drop-off point.

Warehouse Assistants

Volunteers needed in the warehouse as team members to help sort, shelf and organize inventory.

Various shifts Monday – Friday

Food Sourcing Assistants

We are looking for outgoing and confident volunteers who are willing and able to speak to food companies about our work at Feeding Hong Kong and encourage them to donate their surplus to us.

Communications Assistant

Volunteers needed to help with designing marketing materials, writing press releases and articles and drafting social media updates.

Speakers’ Bureau

We are looking for outgoing and confident volunteers who are willing and able speak to schools, service clubs, church groups and other organisations about Feeding Hong Kong and our role in the community.

Chef in the Community Cooking Class Manager

A volunteer class manager works closely with FeedingHK staff to independently coordinate cooking and nutrition education courses for families at risk of hunger. The volunteer class manager serves as the liaison between FeedingHK staff coordinators and class volunteers to implement a course series.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining weekly communication with class volunteers, course site, and FeedingHK coordinator before and during a course.
  • Managing a FeedingHK course and providing in-class support on classroom logistics to class volunteers.
  • Managing classroom participant documentation, cooking equipment, and educational tools.

Commitment

  • Approximately 24 hours per 4-week course.
  • Approximately 6 hours per week, including preparation, planning, shopping, in-class, and communication time.
  • Location of classes varies.

Skills

Nutrition Instructor 

Volunteer nutrition instructors teach one off or multi-session class series, using the lesson plans and recipes for each class provided by the Chef’s in the Community Programme. Nutrition volunteers work in partnership with volunteer chefs to teach nutrition lessons and highlight nutrition information within the cooking lessons.

Each class series meets once a week for four weeks and is coordinated by FeedingHK staff. Classes are offered for adults, teens, and children, and are held at community charities around Hong Kong. FeedingHK provides all materials needed for class including teaching guide, participant handouts, cooking supplies, and food.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Professional nutrition experience or training
  • Interest in working with low-income individuals with diverse backgrounds
  • Dedication to helping alleviate hunger and poverty
  • Comfort speaking in front of an audience
  • Ability to travel to class locations
  • Willingness to be trained in the FeedingHK curricula
  • Willingness to work as a team and adhere to program policies and procedures

Time commitment:

  • Teaching class: at least 3 hours a week for four weeks, plus travel time to and from class locations
  • Preparing for class: at least ½ hour of preparation for each class in a series
  • Training: orientation, class observation, ongoing training as needed

Chef Instructor 

Teach low-income individuals at risk of hunger how to select, purchase and prepare healthy low-cost food!

Chef instructors teach one-off or multi-session class series using recipes for each class provided by the Chef’s in the Community Programme. Volunteer chefs work in partnership with nutrition instructors to lead class, highlighting and supplementing nutrition information with their own culinary knowledge and experience.

Each class series meets once a week for four weeks and is coordinated by FeedingHK staff. Classes are offered for adults, teens, and children, and are held at community charities around Hong Kong. FeedingHK provides all materials needed for class including chef’s teaching guide, participant handouts, cooking supplies, and food.

  • Interest in working with low-income individuals with diverse backgrounds
  • Dedication to helping alleviate hunger and poverty
  • Comfort speaking in front of an audience
  • Ability to travel to class locations
