Feeding Hong Kong rescues surplus perishable food that would otherwise be thrown away.
Using Feeding Hong Kong’s van, we ensure that bread, sandwiches and fresh vegetables are speedily redistributed from our food industry partners to our charity network across the city. Our warehouse is equipped with a fridge and freezer should any items need overnight storage.
Maxim’s, Pret A Manger and La Rose Noir help us liberate leftover muffins, scones, buns and sandwiches from their stores every night after closing time.
Local farms, such as Providence Family Farm, donate fresh vegetables, complementing the non-perishable items that we deliver through our food bank.
What is Food Rescue?
Food rescue takes excess perishable and prepared food and delivers it to charities that feed the hungry. Soup kitchens, youth centres, senior centres, shelters and pantries all benefit from the generosity of the stores, restaurants, cafeterias, and hotels that donate.
